After their loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, would the Detroit Lions dare trade away their top wide receiver? That and more in today’s headlines.
Following Sunday’s disappointing loss to the Seattle Seahawks and the resulting fallout that was overreaction Monday, the Detroit Lions find themselves staring at the NFL Trade Deadline on Tuesday. But after acquiring All-Pro defensive end Damon “Snacks” Harrison just last week, would Motown pull the trigger on yet another trade?
Rumors are being floated around that the Lions are fielding calls for the services of their leading wide receiver, Golden Tate. But Detroit wouldn’t dare ship away quarterback Matthew Stafford’s favorite target midway through the season, would they? We’ll talk about that and more in today’s edition of headlines.
Golden Tate trade rumors continue to swirl – The Detroit News
According to rumors, the Lions are looking for a fourth-round pick or higher in a possible trade for wideout Golden Tate. NFL Week 8 Sunday Standouts: Defense – Pro Football Focus
The newest Lion, Damon “Snacks” Harrison, likely had a better debut than you remember. According to the analytics, Harrison racked up six defensive stops on only 26 run defense snaps. He played a total of 39 defensive snaps against Seattle, meaning he was on the field 62 percent of the time the Lions’ defense played. Snacks’ final stat sheet totaled seven solo tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack. Not a bad day’s work.

And in return, Ansah has played a total of 21 snaps in seven games after injuring his shoulder in Week One. But you have to believe the Lions defense is a better unit with Ziggy in the lineup.
Detroit Lions stock watch: Ameer Abdullah, Teez Tabor plummet – Detroit Free Press
I’m not sure running back Ameer Abdullah’s stock could drop any lower. But his fumble against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday was a momentum killer. And his latest in a long line of blunders has many fans wondering why he’s still on the roster.
KEY QUESTIONS: Why did Detroit struggle to run the ball against Seattle? – DetroitLions.com
After posting an incredible 248 rushing yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week Seven, the Lions running game posted a dud against Seattle, recording a sobering 34 yards on the ground. What changed? The Seahawks’ defense loaded the box to stop the run. But isn’t that when Detroit’s stellar passing attack is supposed to swoop in and save the day?
