The Detroit Lions may be on bye this week, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t games being played worth watching this weekend. Here are four such contests.

The Detroit Lions will not be playing a game this weekend, as they are currently in the midst of their Week Six bye. It’s an important time for the team to rest, evaluate their pay through their first five games, and prepare themselves for the rest of the NFL regular season.

But for Lions fans, just because Detroit is on a bye doesn’t mean there aren’t games worth watching in Week Six. Here’s our list of four such contests you may want to check out.

Chicago Bears @ Miami Dolphins
Sunday, October 14 – 1:00 pm ET – FOX

Why watch? Of all the games being played in Week Six, this one might be the most important to Lions fans. Not only are the Dolphins Detroit’s Week Seven opponents, but they will face off against the Bears, Detroit’s NFC North rivals, whom they’ll play in both Week 10 and again in Week 12.

Arizona Cardinals @ Minnesota Vikings
Sunday, October 14 – 1:00 pm ET – FOX

Why watch? Detroit is set to face the Vikings twice this season, in Week Nine and Week 16. But the Lions will also have to play the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14, so this is yet another game in which two future opponents appear.

Seattle Seahawks @ Oakland Raiders
Sunday, October 14 – 1:00 pm ET – FOX

Why watch? The Lions are scheduled to face off against the Seahawks in Week Eight, the game after they play the Dolphins in Miami. Seattle will play the Raiders in this matchup, a team that defeated Detroit in their first contest of the preseason.

San Francisco 49ers @ Green Bay Packers
Monday, October 15 – 7:15 PM – ESPN

Why watch? Detroit was able to beat the Packers at Ford Field last week. But as a divisional foe, the Lions will see Green Bay again this year. That pivotal matchup is scheduled for the final week of the regular season and could be a deciding game that launches Motown into the playoffs.
