Detroit Lions vs. Giants: Preseason game info, time, channels and more
The Detroit Lions will kick off their preseason home opener on Friday night when they face off against the New York Giants in Motown.
The Detroit Lions will take on the New York Giants this Friday night, in their preseason opener at Ford Field. The Lions are coming off a close 16-10 loss to the Oakland Raiders in their first preseason game of the year which took place last week.
Detroit showcased their new offensive backfield against the Raiders with running backs LeGarrette Blount and rookie Kerryon Johnson making their Motown debuts. In their second exhibition game, this time against the Giants, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford will likely make his preseason debut in preparation for the regular season.
For the Giants, first round running back and the second overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft Saquon Barkley was the talk of their preseason opener in Week One. Starting his career in the Big Apple with a 39-yard Barry Sanders-type run against the Cleveland Browns, Barkley is already a star in New York. Unfortunately, the rookie runner suffered a mild hamstring strain this week and his status for Friday’s preseason matchup is unknown.
