DEFENSIVE TACKLE

First Round Verdict – YES

Defensive tackle Da’Ron Payne (Alabama) is very unlikely to be there for Detroit. If he is, they must take him, as he could be special.

This guy pushes offensive lineman around, and he would be a force in the middle of the Detroit line.

If the Detroit Lions are looking for someone that can disrupt an offense (just not as well as Payne), then defensive tackle Vita Vea (Washington) would be a decent pick.

Vea will probably be gone just a few picks ahead of where the Lions select, but he could help fill the hole left by the departure of defensive tackle Haloti Ngata.

After that, the defensive tackle position dries up a bit. There is defensive tackle Taven Bryan (Florida), but it feels just a bit high at pick 20.

Perhaps Bryan is the pick if the Lions decide to trade down and acquire more picks.
