Nearly three weeks following the start of NFL free agency, and things have started to settled down for the Detroit Lions. After re-signing some of their own players while also adding a few key free agents, the Lions look poised to complete their roster rebuild in the upcoming draft.

The Lions started their offseason placing the franchise tag on premier pass rusher Ziggy Ansah. They followed that move with a slew of re-signings which included cornerback Nevin Lawson, safety Tavon Wilson, quarterback Jake Rudock, defensive end Kerry Hyder, defensive tackle Christian Ringo, linebacker Nick Bellore, tight end Kenny Wiggins and running back Zach Zenner.

Detroit also opted to place a $1.9 million tender on restricted free agent wide receiver T.J. Jones.

Then, the Lions’ brass turned their attention to free agency. In the past month, the front office has inked deals with several veterans. Those names included running back LeGarrette Blount, cornerback DeShawn Shead, tight ends Luke Willson and Levine Toilolo, defensive tackle Sylvester Williams and linebackers Devon Kennard, Jonathan Freeny and Christian Jones.

Although many of these signings aren’t considered splashy moves, they do address several areas of need. And the Lions also brought in bigger players who better fit new head coach Matt Patricia’s defensive scheme while also providing some much needed depth at positions of need.

Now, the Detroit Lions will turn their attention to the 2018 NFL Draft. In the following pages, we attempt to predict what the Motor City may elected to do when their number is called.
