One of the reasons the Lions opted to sign former New England Patriot defensive coordinator Matt Patricia as their newest head coach was to help an ailing defense that ranked 27th in the NFL last season.
But under new defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni, and with stars like Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay, edge rusher Ziggy Ansah, safety Glover Quin and 2017 first rounder Jarrad Davis at linebacker; this Detroit defense is reportedly going to be “insane” according to Boston College defensive end Harold Landry. We can only hope, kid.

The biggest offseason question for the Lions? Running back. Whether it be through free agency, the upcoming draft or both; Detroit’s brass has to get some new blood in the backfield this offseason. The fact they ignored the position entirely last year is likely the biggest reason the Lions’ failed to make the postseason in 2017. That’s on you Bob Quinn!

At this point, I’m not sure fans would be too upset if the Lions picked a running back in each of the first three rounds of the draft! That’s how pressing a need this team has for a viable rushing attack in Detroit. And can we please stop the Rex Burkhead talk? Geez …
Maurice Hurst diagnosed with heart condition – NFL.com
Michigan defensive tackle Maurice Hurst has been touted as a possible replacement for Haloti Ngata in Detroit. But some bad medicals received at the NFL Scouting Combine might not just drop Hurst’s draft stock, but possibly end his professional career before it even starts. Let’s hope for some good news during his medical re-checks.
