NFL Mock Draft 2018: Full first round – Who’s the Detroit Lions top pick?
Mo Hurst, is an athletic, versatile defensive tackle who gives the Titans an end in nickel packages and a one-gap, penetrating tackle in traditional sets. The Titans primary needs are interior defensive line, and interior offensive line, along with corner back.
Hurst could go sooner, he has flashed elite skills at getting into the backfields of college opponents, but he doesn’t have the girth at the point of attack that most teams covet. At 6-2, 280, he possesses great initial quickness for a big man, though. The son of a former NFL player, Hurst was a leader at Michigan, and will be a solid pro. His running back roots show when he is playing, as he moves very well laterally.
At this point in the draft, teams are often selecting a guy on what they think his potential is, not necessarily what he showed in college. So, there may be other players that Tennessee thinks have better upside that Hurst, here. Hurst’s talent seems to warrant the pick, though as many scouts project him to go earlier.
