Offense summary

If the Lions take on some of the Patriots traits on offense, we do have some pieces to start from.

Stafford has done an excellent job spreading the ball around. Tate and Jones are very productive in slot and deep-threat roles, respectively. Golladay is a red zone threat and makes plays downfield.

Ebron possesses great speed and athleticism for a tight end, much like Rob Gronkowski, but hasn’t been consistent enough to be thought of in the same stratosphere.

Ebron really looked good to end the season, though. All Lions fans hope that his new role as a father helps him to continue to develop as a player, too.

That gives the Lions four targets that can frighten other teams. That’s a good start.

Up front and in the backfield, the Lions need to play better. The line needs to develop some cohesiveness by being available and playing together. The runners need a three-down player, or several versatile players, to get tough yards between the tackles and spark the ground game.

Several pieces will likely be added to improve the offense no matter what scheme or coordinator is making the calls, though.
