Defensive line

Another unit that just seems to stay the same.

I get that injuries here have taken a couple of players out, like tackle, Haloti Ngata. I’ve been talking about this group since the summer.

More from SideLion Report

I chided Quinn for drafting a slow, cover corner, the unused Teez Tabor, when he had huge holes along the D-line, especially at end.

Only one defensive lineman got a sack on Monday night, despite the Packers offensive line problems in front of an inexperienced quarterback, Brett Hundley. We totaled three for the game.

The good news was getting defensive tackle and 2016 sack leader, Khyri Thornton, back from injury.

The play of second year man Anthony Zettel has also been a bright spot at end. He is the current leader with four sacks in eight games.

Going forward, it looks like Teryl Austin, defensive coordinator, will have to use blitzes to generate sacks like he did against the Packers.

Even if Ziggy Ansah, our best end, gets healthy , we just aren’t generating enough negative plays as a defense with our front four.
