The 3-3 Detroit Lions will welcome the 5-2 Pittsburgh Steelers to Ford Field this Sunday as the Motor City tries to climb the NFC North standings.

The Detroit Lions are coming off their bye in Week Seven. And the break couldn’t have come at a better time for the Lions. Detroit is hoping not to extend it’s losing streak to three games as they prepare to face the 5-2 Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

Currently, the 3-3 Lions sit third in the NFC North, with both the 5-2 Minnesota Vikings and the 4-3 Green Bay Packers. In the basement of the division are the 3-4 Chicago Bears. But Detroit has a clear path to a divisional championship if they can shake their losing ways.

The Lions have already beaten the Vikings this season and with the loss of quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a collarbone injury, the Packers are a good bet to nosedive in the standings. That gives Detroit an opportunity to gain some much needed ground in the NFC North, and it starts Sunday night versus the Steelers.

As for Pittsburgh, they currently sit atop the AFC North, with their divisional rivals struggling to keep pace. The Steelers have won their last two games including an impressive 19-13 victory over the Chiefs in Kansas City. But their two losses have come at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Bears.
