We give you the details you need to know in order to get ready for the Detroit Lions second preseason contest against the New York Jets.
The Detroit Lions are coming off a terrific preseason opening victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Unfortunately, the 24-10 win came at an extremely high cost as defensive end Kerry Hyder Jr. and linebacker Brandon Copeland were both lost for the season due to injury.
So, one of the top priorities in this game against the New York Jets on Saturday for Detroit will be to stay healthy. Not only are the Lions a little light on the defensive side of the ball, but a number of their tight ends are sidelined as well. So expect to see some younger players putting in some major work.

Typically, this is when NFL teams begin to play their starters for more than just one series. So expect to see more of quarterback Matthew Stafford and many of the first-teamers in this matchup.
There will be a focus on rookie wide receiver Kenny Golladay in this game. The third round selection shined in his preseason debut last weekend, recording two touchdown catches. Golladay certainly will be one to keep an eye on in Detroit’s second preseason contest.
This will also be the first game in the newly renovated Ford Field, as the team spent $100-million to make state of the art improvements to the Lions’ home facility.
