After falling in the 2017 NFL Draft, this rookie defender’s recent comments about winning should excite fans of the Detroit Lions.

Going into the 2017 NFL Draft, many touted Florida cornerback Jalen “Teez” Tabor as a potential first round selection. But following some poor pre-draft workouts and a lackluster showing at the NFL Scouting Combine, Tabor’s stock began to fall.

During the draft, Tabor fell all the way to the Detroit Lions late in second round. A very confident young man, the former Gators’ brazen attitude was a cause for concern. But his value on the second day of the draft combined with his talent level, frame (6’0″, 201 lbs.), instincts and versatility made him a no-brainer as the 53rd overall selection by the Lions.

But any fan concerns about the rookie corner’s personality quirks should be put at ease a bit after some recent comments made by Tabor about his goals in Detroit. Which is simply to win.

"“Whatever coach asks me to do, that’s what I’m comfortable with,” Tabor told the Detroit Free Press. “I’m comfortable with whatever it is is going to help the team win. That’s all I’m about. I want to win. I didn’t win in college, so that’s all I want to do is win so whatever coach asks me to do.”"

One of the bigger knocks on Tabor coming out of Florida was due to some past maturity issues. The 21-year old is a brash young man who possess the confidence you need to be a successful cornerback on the NFL level. But attitude/arrogance can also be a double-edged sword, cutting both ways.
