2. Jim Bob Cooter’s Offense

There is no denying the 2015 Lions offense improved under Jim Bob Cooter. Joe Lombardi led the Lions to a 1-6 record as offensive coordinator. After Cooter got his feet wet in London, he used the bye week to transition the offense a little bit and the team finished 6-2. In addition to the win-loss record, Cooter also improved the pass blocking and got the rushing attack off the ground. The Lions hit 100+ yards rushing just once in the first half of the year. They hit that mark five straight times in the second half.

Now, it could be argued that a lot of the offense’s success was due to the schedule. After all, the Lions played three straight games against playoff teams in the first half. All of that said, there’s no denying the improvement that was made on the offensive side of the ball.
