When Martin Mayhew took over as General Manager of the Detroit Lions back in 2009, he inherited one of the biggest disasters in professional sports history. Detroit was coming off the first and only 0-16 season in NFL history.

His reign ended after 6 seasons of varying degrees of success. The Lions earned two playoff berths and dramatically upgraded the overall quality of the roster. Obviously the level of success isn’t what Mayhew, or the long-suffering fans, ultimately hoped for. Even so, Martin Mayhew did make some solid decisions during his tenure as Detroit Lions GM.
