NFC North Round Table: Offseason Edition
By Mike Payton
Who would you like to see your team draft?
SLR: “Going back to the struggle between offensive line and defensive line. If we are talking strictly about the first round, I think it has to be defensive line. As I mentioned earlier, this is one of the best defensive tackle classes in years. So why not strike while the iron is hot and grab Sheldon Rankins from Louisville or Andrew Billings from Baylor if either are available. Which they most likely will be. Elsewhere in the draft I’d really like to see the Lions draft Northwestern Super Back Dan Vitale. Of all the prospects in the raft this year, I’ve chosen Vitale to be my draft crush. I think there are a lot of other teams out there with that same crush.
TVA: “Unrealistically, I fell in love with watching Vernon Hargreaves III when doing my draft profiles on TheVikingAge.com. I know he is likely a top-10 pick and probably won’t be available, but then again I never expected Sharrif Floyd or Teddy Bridgewater to fall as far as they did in the draft. However, if being logical, a guy like TCU WR Josh Doctson might be just what the doctor ordered for young quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to help improve the passing game.”
BAR: “At #11, I would like to see the team trade down. Frankly, i don’t see much of a difference between players I rank at eleven and players I’ve ranked in the mid-20s.”
APC: “I personally like Alabama defensive tackle Jarran Reed, or Boise State outside linebacker Kamalei Correa for the Packers at 27. There are many defensive tackle prospects I like, but Reed would bring the most immediate impact to a Super Bowl contending team next season. Correa has a lot of versatility and athleticism and would fit in well at the outside linebacker position from a depth perspective next season. Drafting Correa would also reduce the impact of losing Julius Peppers after the season who will likely retire.”
