Writing a mock draft is a fun thought exercise, and most of the time that exercise involves considering what if scenarios involving who is left on the board when your team picks.  So far, for the Detroit Lions, we have seen several different offensive and defensive tackles, some linebackers, and at least one center to go along with a couple of corners.  Nice and compact, right?  Well today, we’re going to do something a little different. We aren’t just going to look at who is available and who fits, we’re going to draft based primarily on how athletic the players left are.

It’s not entirely crazy.  Part of what held the Detroit Lions back in 2015 was how unathletic their LB corps was at times, so let’s see if Bob Quinn can throw some athletes at the roster!  To do this, we will be using RAS to determine how athletic the prospects are and will only pick players who are significantly better than average.  We’ll still consider things like the present roster and need, and we’re still going to care about just how good these players are.  Still, we’re not looking at those things first, we’re going to make sure that we get some dang athletes on the Detroit Lions Roster.  Let’s get this party started!
