Overall Grade for 2015 NFL Draft – B-

The Lions look to have three or four starters coming out of this draft and a few of them have flashed greatness at times. This grade could decrease or increase in the coming years. If Tomlinson doesn’t develop and Abdullah continues to fumble, for example, this could come down. If Carter proves to be a starting caliber CB and Robinson develops into a rotational tackle, this grade could go up.

All in all, four immediate starting caliber contributors is a solid draft, although not spectacular. Although they have a few notable draftees, they did not acquire much talent at the most valuable positions that were also needs, such as offensive tackle or anywhere on defense in a base 4-3. When comparing to the 2013 draft, that is one very big difference.

Thus, Martin Mayhew’s final draft garners a B- grade.
