After nine weeks of NFL play, the Detroit Lions hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. That’s what a 1-7 record and fired management regime gets you these days.

There is still quite a bit of volatility in the draft standings with half a season left to play. Six teams end Week 9 with two measly wins. It’s not inconceivable for the Lions to finish 4-12 and pick somewhere in the 5-8 overall range.
