50. Original pick: Eric Ebron. Defensive Tackle. Pittsburgh. Aaron Donald. 1. player

Let me be clear. I like Eric Ebron and I liked the selection of Eric Ebron. I decided to go with Donald based on the fact that I selected Jimmy Graham early in the article. There’s no doubt that Aaron Donald is one of the best players in the league at his position and keeps getting better. In pure revisionist history form, I will finally say the Lions should have made this pick if they had any fear that Ndamukong Suh was going to leave. Regardless offense is the issue and that’s why Ebron was the right move,

LSU. Jarvis Landry. 2. player. 50. Orginal pick: Kyle Van Noy. Wide Receiver

Jarvis Landry presents a nice option for the Lions due to his ability to play many roles. Not only can Landry spread the field as a receiver, he can also take the ball out of the backfield and set up as a return man. Having Landry as the Lions third receiver and all around offensive weapons give the Lions one explosive team for Matthew Stafford to utilize.

50. Original pick: Travis Swanson. Quarterback. Alabama. AJ McCarron. 3. player

Again with another pick that jumps off the page. The fact of matter is this, if Matthew Stafford goes down for any length of time, the Lions are more screwed they ever will be. McCarron gives the Lions a solid back-up that can be groomed to take over for Stafford if things don’ work out in the future. Not to mention Katherine Webb joining the Lions faithful wouldn’t hurt either.

Other notable players the Lions missed: Odell Beckham Jr is really the only one anybody cares about anyways.
