Travis Benjamin, WR, Cleveland Browns

It appears that every time Travis Benjamin touches the football, he scores touchdowns. Okay, so maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but not by much — at least last Sunday.

In the Cleveland Browns outing against the Tennessee Titans in week two, Benjamin absolutely went OFF! The speedy wideout caught three passes for 115-yards and two touchdowns and he returned a punt 78-yards to the house as well to add another score.

His point total in basic standard leagues was a whopping 29.5 for the day, something almost no one predicted prior to Sunday — myself included.

On the season, Benjamin now has six receptions for 204 yards. He’s averaging an unbelievable 34.0 yards per reception, and his four touchdowns are tied with Rob Gronkowski for the league lead.

Now this is where I confuse you.

While Benjamin’s start to the season is quite remarkable, the chances that his proficiency continues is rather unlikely — but it is possible. If it were me, I would have no qualms with picking him up from the week 3 waiver wire, (especially if you’re in a league with a good amount of roster spots) however I’d still hesitate to start him.

Here are some other week 3 waiver wire names worth mentioning.
