The Lions will meet up with an old friend in a new stadium when The Lions head to Minnesota to take on Adrain Peterson and the Vikings.
The Lions are 6-6 against the Vikings since 2010. Most recently the Lions were able to sweep the Vikings in 2014. But this isn’t the same Vikings. This team has definitely improved and will likely play spoiler down the stretch. But the Vikings still have a ways to go before they can challenge for the NFC North. That’s not a knock on the Vikings, They simply need to brew for another season before they start picking off playoff teams.
Adrain Peterson hasn’t played the Lions since September of 2013 when he broke off a huge 78 yard touch run in the first quarter, and was then relegated to 15 yards the rest of the way. The last time Peterson broke 100 yards on the Lions was in November of 2012 when he ran for almost 200 yards on the 4-12 Detroit Lions. There remains about four or five Lions that were actually on the team at that time.
Peterson makes an overall difference for the Vikings, but not in this game. It should be interesting to see Teddy Bridgewater do something other than check downs after he was Mr. check down during the preseason.
The Lions get a win in week two, but it will be tough to beat this team in the near future. Win (2-0)
