The case for Greg Salas

Now, I know what you are all thinking. In the first preseason game against the New York Jets, he made some great catches and performed well. My question for you would be, where was he against the Washington Redskins?

I am very leery of a player who has a good game against his former team. Mind you, it was against the 2s and 3s at that point. He may have made some decent catches. He may have run for some pretty good numbers after the catch. But, he had a motivation to do so.

Both in camp and in preseason, aside from the game against the Jets, I really haven’t seen anything special from him to grant him a spot on our roster. I would say he could go to the practice squad because depth is always good and his skills could be honed, but he doesn’t qualify for the practice squad.

So, for these reasons, I, unfortunately, have to say he will be getting cut. If it’s not during the cut down to 75, it will be during the cut down to 53. I could be wrong here, but I just don’t see him fitting into our scheme.
