Obviously a long shot. The idea here is that Abdul-Quddus steals James Ihedigbo’s starting spot in camp and wows everyone. If not, Abdul-Quddus could make the Pro Bowl as a special teamer.
In 2014 Abdul-Quddus lead all special teams players in Pro Bowl votes for a couple of weeks but was edged out at the end of the season. If Quddus can continue his stellar play on special teams, then it certainly is not out of the question that he can make the cut.
As for starting at safety, the Lions will likely begin to move away from Ihedigbo and give more responsibility to the younger Abdul-Quddus who is expected to take over once Ihedigbo leaves. Due to contract dispute between the Lions and Ihedigbo, that move may come sooner than expected.
