Looking back to 2014– Winn amassed 19 carries for 73 yards last season and that was mostly due to the injuries atop of the depth chart in the Lions’ backfield. His best game came against a stout Buffalo Bills defense where he ran for 48 yards on 11 attempts.

He looked promising at times, but has been known to put the ball on the ground and his ability to catch out of the backfield hasn’t been put on display in the little playing time he’s received meaning he likely won’t get very many looks in that area which further complicates his role to the team.

Looking ahead to 2015– Winn is a likable back. His most productive game as a Lion came against one of the best defenses in the NFL, but it’s hard envisioning a role for him next season that doesn’t involve the practice squad. I think that’s where Winn will be unless the Lions get bit by the injury bug.

Fans should feel good about having Winn on call should anything happen to the top backs on the roster as he was productive when given the opportunity.
