Looking Ahead to 2015– If you were looking for a dark horse candidate to impact the backfield for the Lions next season look no further. Zenner is already making his mark as a fan favorite and his production and skill-set could transition into a deadly NFL running back.

It’s  a bit surprising that none of the 32 teams took a chance on him during the draft, but their loss is Detroit’s gain. Zenner may lack the shiftiness of most NFL backs, but he makes up for it with precise north and south running which is something fans should appreciate after the Reggie Bush experience.

It’s hard to see Zenner, even with his production in college, getting many snaps in 2015. However, should one of the top three backs on the roster fall, particularly one of the top two, Zenner could quickly get an opportunity to show what he’s got.

Bell, Abdullah, and Riddick are backs one, two, and three on the depth chart. Pencil in Zenner as the fourth back over George Winn.
