In 2014, the Detroit Lions set their own standard on how to approach the NFL’s free agency period. They secured their top target Golden Tate quickly, then slowly and selectively proceeded to plug in plenty of quality fixes within other spots.

This offseason, there aren’t as many glaring holes to be patched as in the past, but there’s one significant question mark that will hang over the team’s entire free agency period until it’s resolved.
