3. Field goal kicking
Matt Prater has struggled to shake off rust from his six week layoff early in the season, but there is hope that his perfect day across the pond can provide some momentum going forward.
It better, because the last time Prater kicked in Ford Field, he banged a 21 yard field goal off the uprights and struggled from 40 yards and further, usually an automatic distance for kickers indoors. That’s not confidence inspiring for the whole team.
Arguably, the Lions could be undefeated or at the very least have one loss if not for problems with their kicking. During the second half, efforts like that cannot cost them winnable games.
