When discussing the Detroit Lions’ defense, two things tend to come up: The defensive line is good, and the secondary is bad.
Rarely does anyone discuss the linebackers, and understandably so; they’re rarely either the best or worst unit on the field, and linebackers in a 4-3 defense generally go unappreciated anyway.
But it’s time for the linebackers to get some love. Or some hate, where appropriate. Here are the grades for the Lions’ linebackers over the first half. And in case you forgot, here is the schedule for the rest of this series over the next week.
Tuesday, October 29 – Guards/Centers & Linebackers
Wednesday, October 30 – Offensive Tackles & Cornerbacks
Thursday, October 31 – Tight Ends & Safeties
Friday, November 1 – Running Backs & Defensive Tackles
Saturday, November 2 – Special Teams
Sunday, November 3 – Coaches
Monday, November 4 – Wide Receivers & Defensive Ends
Tuesday, November 5 – Quarterbacks & Overall Grades
