A stadium trip isn’t complete without a sampling of the local fare. After a while of checking out the stadium and watching a few bands Matt and I were ready for something to eat.

Matt went for the Nachos and I got the jumbo hot dog. If you remember back to my photo of the menu board you might recall that each of these items sells for $5. As far as stadium concessions go $5 nachos seems like a good deal while the same price for a hot dogs is quite steep. Available condiments include ketchup, mustard, and sweet relish. Purists may have a problem with this but I love a dog with ketchup:

The value factor of the $5 nachos wore off with each chip. Matt told me he thought the chips were left over from before the Silverdome closed. I tried a few and prefer to describe them as having a certain stale charm. Think you can get through it by drowning the chips in nacho cheese? Think again, the cheese to chip ratio is way out of whack. They can pack the shallow tray with plenty of chips but nacho cheese doesn’t stack the same way. No one likes running out of nacho cheese prematurely.
