With 4 Thanksgiving losses in a row, getting smoked and embarrassed on national television has become the new Detroit tradition. Rod Marinelli has not failed to disappoint in his third season as head coach, he has delivered the worst Thanksgiving Day loss in the history of the franchise that has been playing this game since the 1930’s. They allowed the Titans to hit a franchise high on offense.
Now at 0-12, the Lions truly are chasing history. Going winless is very, very real at this point. We are on the verge of history, Lions fans are witnessing something that will go in the [...]

And surely that will happen, especially considering that they are playing one of the best teams in the League.
That’s a long time to not even take one; I remember the last one, it was against the Brett Favre Packers in 2003 and I had the pleasure of being there when Mooch had that team looking pretty good in, for the entire Millen era, the only national exposure the Lions receive all year. When they lose this Thursday, that will make 5 straight nationally televised Thanksgiving losses, often very embarassing in nature (Falcons… Colts… Yeesh). 5 years! Soak that in. There are young [...]
The Titans of Tennessee will be firing up the eletric knife and going to town on the ever defunct Detroit Lions.
They are a superior team, they are 10 and 1 and they are going to continue the rich Thanksigiving tradition of some team coming into Detroit and administering the hurt on a national broadcast, done by the ‘B’ squad of course, as the A list broadcasters are usually in Dallas.
Will there ever be a decent team on the field in Detroit?
Scott Pioli. Seriously, get him and hope he brings Cassel with him; Look at the Falcons! The people in charge [...]
Bottom of the Bottom, Lowest of the Low
The Lions Sign Henson to a 2 year contract (Why!?!) to shore up the even thinner QB ranks as Drew Stanton keeps getting pounded into the ground and is questionable to play due to a concussion suffered during the trashing the Bucc’s handed down on Sunday.
Henson hasn’t played in an NFL game since Thanksgiving a million years ago when Dallas started him, though he didn’t make it through the game. He was benched in favor of Vinny Testaverde.
A pointless move by an irrelevant team, seems like more penalty to pay to clear cap [...]
Going up 17 to 0 and ceding 38 barely answered points does not a winner make. What looked like a strong start ended up being 2 lucky plays and a field goal, merely foreplay for the Buccaneer rampage that was to come.
Culpepper is what he used to be but a little worse. A turnover machine and clearly not the answer for the franchise. We knew that, didn’t we? We said he was turnover prone, did we not? We knew he was a ploy to sell tickets. PS. that worked great.
So in the 3rd consecutive game that you couldn’t put on [...]
Kerry Collins is doing it. Kurt Warner is doing it. And as if it isn’t all too familiar, Jeff Garcia is doing it. So why not come out of nowhere and be successful?
I’m tired of flogging the bad talent horse. I’m tired of losing and I’m tired of the Marinelli pressers after yet another loss. Just win one for godsakes so we can stop with the ‘historical’ season crap. It’s growing more and more annoying everyday.
We as fans are tired of being a joke. There is nothing good going on in this city, GM and Ford Exec’s are flying out [...]
Anybody know the longest streak for consecutive blackouts? We are now officially at 3 in a row.
Can’t see the game within 75 miles, that includes Metro Detroit, Flint and Lansing.
Is Tampa Bay Sweating this game? A Tampa Blogger (JC De La Torre) takes a look at the history of 10 and 0 + teams.
If you’re a history buff, the New Orleans Saints coach that ceded the Tampa Franchise’s first win was fired for it back in ‘77.

“It’s a big loss,” Bucs coach Jon Gruden told Detroit reporters in a conference call. “He’s a tremendous character and an outstanding performer and a leader here and a go-to guy. You lose your feature back, it’s a problem for us.”
The Bucs activated Cadillac Williams from the physically unable to perform list. But he hasn’t played since suffering a serious knee injury the fourth game of last season.
“I don’t know that he’s going to be active for this game,” Gruden said. “There is a chance he could be. We’re taking it day by day.”
The Lions likely will see a lot of [...]
“Who wants to look at a leader who’s a grouch or a pouter? There’s too much of that here anyway, isn’t it? Too much around. So when things are bad, a leader’s supposed to step up and lead from the front, and that’s what I’m going to do.”
Honestly you can’t hate the guy. At the very least his attitude has been consistent, though lately you can tell that this coaching position and this season are clearly taking their toll on him. The answers are more terse… The shoulder has a chip on it. And for good reason! Their backs are [...]

This could just be wishful thinking… but just imagine the possibilities…
This guy is the real deal. He’s done it, the guys under him (ie, that Falcons Team that whooped on us week 1) are proving themselves in the league and this guy is a guru of guru’s, the Lions are very desirable because they can offer the whole enchilada with extra sauce.
If Ford wants to win (and we know that he does), he will fetch an F-350 and fill the bed to the brim with cash, grab Jr. and road trip it out to New England this off season. [...]
