1. Detroit Lions

Finally, we come to the Lions. Yes, beating the defending Super Bowl champs is certainly good enough to catapult Detroit into our top spot. It is tough to argue with that either, as the Lions went into Kansas City and beat Patrick Mahomes and company.

To put this game in perspective, this was supposed to be a big night for the Chiefs, celebrating their championship. The Lions, though, went in and won in every sense. Detroit finished with more total yards (including both rushing and passing), first downs, total plays ran and even time of possession.

Dam Campbell said after the game that he expected to win, and so did his team, and that's the mentality they played with going in. Detroit was not to be intimidated, and came out playing just where they left off last season.

The Lions' defense did a great job most of the night. Their run game looks to be dynamic with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs each doing their own things well. Jared Goff played a solid game. It was an all-around positive performance for the no. 1 team in the NFC North.
