Amon-Ra St. Brown has been a revelation since joining the Detroit Lions. Talent, and an undying work ethic rooted in being the 17th wide receiver taken in the 2021 draft, make him a core player now and into the foreseeable future.
Thus far in camp the beat has gone on powerfully for St. Brown. During practice this past Saturday, St. Brown showed off his sticky hands in the red zone with a pair of fantastic catches.
As Campbell explained to the media on Saturday, St. Brown is the kind of player who helps set a standard for the whole team.
"A guy like (St. Brown), he sets the bar. To me, he's one of those pieces that sets the bar. That's where it is, and now can we get above that? Because I know if it's below, it ain't good enough. The way he comes out every day, he has not changed one bit since he was a rookie. He does all the same things that validated what he's done and the production that's come by the way that he works. He just goes, and it's every little thing. Every little detail he finishes, you see him pre-practice, you see him post-practice. He didn't change one thing."Dan Campbell
What St. Brown has done in camp thus far has only strengthened Campbell's belief that even bigger things are soon in store for him this season.
Dan Campbell predicts a "big year" for Amon-Ra St. Brown
All the quality plays and leadership durng camp paints the picture of a player who's going to reach another level in 2023. Campbell did not mince words to predict just that for St. Brown.
"There's no way he's not going to have a big year, because he's not changed one thing. If I'm a young guy, I'm watching him every play. I would be. They should be. He's unbelievable, he really is. I don't ever want to take him for granted because sometimes you (think) he's gonna always be there, he's always gonna make a play. I appreciate that about him. He's something else."Dan Campbell
So as your fantasy football drafts approach, take Campbell's prediction however you'd like. But that St. Brown has his eyes on a Year 3 breakthrough is not breaking news, and neither is that he's working hard to make it come to fruition.
