There's obviously still a lot of time left in this season, but these three looming free agents for the Detroit Lions have already earned themselves a new contract.

2. OG/C Graham Glasgow

Glasgow has been everything the Lions could have hoped he'd be when they signed him. At minimum, he'd be a versatile backup to all three interior line spots to cover for any injuries. He wound up taking the starting job at right guard when Halapoulivaati Vaitai suffered a knee injury, while starting games at center and left guard too along the way before the bye in Week 9.

Graham locked down the starting gig at right guard this year by being a top-five graded guard by Pro Football Focus through a few weeks ago. He was not immune to the dismal showing by the Lions' offensive line against the Packers on Thanksgiving Day, coming in with the second-worst PFF grade among Lions' offensive players. But his body of good work this season is not diminished by one rough performance by the entire offensive line.

Glasgow wanted to come back to the Lions after the previous regime left him go in free agency to the Denver Broncos, with something about "wanting to play with his buddies" (he previously played with Taylor Decker and Frank Ragnow). He's still not going to break the bank in his next deal, and it may only be another one-year deal to stick around.

The way Dan Campbell has talked about Glasgow, and the way he has played this year, his being re-signed for at least 2024 feels like a no-brainer.
