The Detroit Lions haven't had Jameson Williams the last two games, but he is set to return in Week 10 against the Houston Texans and he is being welcomed back.
While the Lions haven't exactly missed Williams, scoring 76 points in his absence, it's clear that they could still use one of their most dynamic playmakers down the stretch this season. The Texans will not be a pushover on the road, and the advantage Williams provides given his deep ball talents on a fast field cannot be understated.
Quarterback Jared Goff understands what Williams brings to the table.
"He's a weapon. We know that and teams around the league know that, so he's a guy that they'll certainly be planning for and will help us in a ton of ways not just catching the ball, but with blocking and all the other stuff he can do. So yeah, we'll see how we can get him involved this week."
For his part, Williams has maturity questions to answer, but with him back in the fold, the slate is wiped clean once again. Williams will get the chance to show he can be a force, whether it's catching the ball, being used on gadget plays, blocking or even serving as a decoy.
No matter what Williams is asked to do against Houston, Goff has confidence the receivers will rise up and answer the call given their overall mindset.

Jared Goff praises selfless approach within Lions' wide receiver room
With or without Williams, the beat has gone on for the Lions because the offense is loaded with wide receivers who relish winning over anything else. Goff isn't surprised by that.
"That's who they are. I think it's (the) culture we've put in place and Brad (Holmes) has a good way of not bringing in guys that are (selfish), so it's kind of just organic and those guys know that winning is most important. Obviously, everyone wants the ball more and we're doing our best to get it to everybody, but as long as we're winning and scoring points, it's all good."
Egos are not prevalent in the Lions' wide receiver room, and Goff notices the dirty work they do.
"I'm lucky those guys are very unselfish and they love blocking as much as they love getting the ball. Do we want to get everyone the ball more? Of course you always do, but that's the challenge for Ben (Johnson) and he's done a pretty good job of it."
No matter what the plan is for Williams this week as he re-enters the fold, Goff is happy to have to have his full complement of weapons again.
