2. Seattle Seahawks FS Quandre Diggs

If there’s any Stafford-like story in this year’s Wild Card Round for Lions fans, it’s probably here with Diggs. He made the interception that sealed Seattle’s Week 18 win over the Los Angeles Rams (on his way to winning NFC Defensive Player of the Week), which made the Lions solely into spoilers against the Packers during the Sunday night game,

But Diggs didn’t necessarily want to be traded from the Lions when “QuinnTricia” sent him to the Seahawks in 2019. He clearly still has some affinity for Detroit, and the current edition of the team.

Via Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News, here’s what Diggs said before the Seahawks played the Lions in the Motor City back in Week 4.

"It’s always a special place for me,” Diggs said. “Even like watching on film, you know? Just seeing the turf and seeing the fans in the stadium, it brings back memories, of course. Detroit is what made me into who I am now… That’s a different regime, now. (Patricia and former general manager Bob Quinn) are gone,” Diggs said. “Dan Campbell’s in and I love what they’re doing, so it’s cool to see those guys back on the right track.”"

If the Seahawks are going to have their best chance to beat the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday, it will be by getting multiple takeaways and forcing 49ers rookie quarterback Brock Purdy into mistakes in what is forecasted to be some adverse weather. Diggs is a rare breed as a ballhawking safety, so he will be a key cog in that defensive effort.
