2. CB Jerry Jacobs

After playing little in his first two games back from a torn ACL, all signs point to Jacobs having a bigger role in the Lions’ secondary on Sunday. He can’t really be any worse than Amani Oruwariye and AJ Parker were last week against Miami, or how bad both have been this season.

"Yeah, we’d like to get Jerry in the game for sure,” (Dan) Campbell said Friday. “He’ll continue on special teams, and then we’d like to work him some outside, just see if we can bring him along here – because every week, he’s gotten better and better, getting his legs under him, his conditioning, all those things, so we see him working a little bit.”"

In 13 games as an undrafted rookie last year, Jacobs allowed just a 59 percent completion rate, one touchdown and 90.5 passer rating in his coverage. He will certainly add an edge and a physicality at the line of scrimmage Lions’ corners this side of Jeff Okudah have lacked, and he needs to play well on Sunday.

1. OT Penei Sewell

The Lions’ offensive tackles will both have challenging matchups on Sunday against whichever of the Packers edge rushers–Preston Smith or Rashan Gary–they face. But the spotlight here goes to Sewell, who became a father this week, as he will draw the heaviest dose of Gary, who has played mostly on the left edge over the last couple games.

Per Ben Raven of MLive, Gary is eighth in the league in pass rush win rate this season (24 percent). He has six sacks, with 35 pressures (sixth in the league among edge rushers) and 11 quarterback hits.

Sewell has been among the best right tackles in the NFL this season. But Gary is a substantial challenge, and he has to kept away from getting pressue on Goff.
