1. WR DK Metcalf

Quite simply Metcalf, at 6-foot-4 and 225-230 pounds with the speed and athleticism of a much smaller man, is a physical freak and a hard matchup for anyone.

Jeff Okudah has asserted himself as the Lions’ No. 1 cornerback through three games, playing a primary role in shutting down DeVonta Smith, Terry McLaurin and Justin Jefferson. But based on his comments this week, Metcalf isn’t all that impressed with the former No. 3 overall pick.

"There’s a safety over the top of him, so he’s not really locking people down,” Metcalf said. “But he’s a good corner.”"

Metcalf has watched tape, presumably, so he comes from an informed perspective. He’s also not entirely wrong, as he simply said he doesn’t see Okudah as a “lock down corner” who operates without help all the time.

Okudah needs more than three good games before he enters certified lock down cornerback territory, though traveling with Jefferson for 32 plays last week (h/t to NextGen Stats and Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press) and allowing him just three catches for 14 yards on six targets is a nice piece of a budding “shut down” corner’s resume.

It’s unknown if Okudah will travel with Metcalf, as the Seahawks of course have another very capable receiver (and another receiver who could equally wreck the Lions’ day) in Tyler Lockett. Lockett definitely deserves an honorable mention in this space.

But it doesn’t matter if it’s Okudah or the currently struggling Amani Oruwariye lined up across from Metcalf on Sunday. He could very easily physically overmatch and run roughshod through a secondary that will be without safety Tracy Walker. He wouldn’t necessarily even need several receptions to wreak his full havoc on the Lions, and wreck their day.
