4. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have been trying to piece together replacing Tyreek Hill, to little effect so far. Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s stripes have not changed, Mecole Hardman hasn’t yet emerged, JuJu Smith-Schuster is what he is and rookie Sky Moore has barely played (23 offensive snaps in three games).

The Chiefs making a move to get Golladay would automatically make the other 30 teams go “did we miss something?” If he wound up producing anything like he did a few years ago with the Lions as a big-bodied target for Patrick Mahomes, it would be confirmed other teams did miss a buy-low opportunity.

The flier the Chiefs took on Josh Gordon didn’t pan out. But it proves they’re willing to try things from the position of strength they occupy, and Golladay has at least played a significant amount of snaps in the league lately. Mahomes can elevate players, and a question might be if Golladay will buy in to a smaller role if that’s all he’d have in Kansas City. But if can get away from the Giants and join a legit winning team, buy-in should not be an issue.
