3. WR Tom Kennedy

Kennedy has been a preseason star for the Lions, with a 100-yard game in the first game against the Atlanta Falcons and two nice touchdown catches against the Colts in the second one.

Campbell has noted an attempt to give Kennedy every chance to make the team. If special teams is a tipping point, Kennedy got some snaps in that area against the Colts to potentially level the playing field for him as he competes for one of the final couple roster spots at wide receiver.

If he is part of the cuts to 53 players between Sunday and Tuesday, Kennedy could make it through waivers and back onto the Lions practice squad. But the better he performs in the preseason, the rest of the league leaving him unclaimed if he is cut gets more unlikely.

In any case Kennedy will be trying to finish the preseason strongly on Sunday, likely with plenty of second half run on offense. Either he makes it impossible for the Lions not to keep him on their 53, or he will have fully showcased himself for the other 31 teams.
