Chicago Bears: LB Roquan Smith

As the Bears’ defense has eroded around him, Smith has stepped up his production over the last couple seasons. He posted 163 total tackles last season (fifth in the league) with three sacks, 12 tackles for loss and a 76.8 passer rating allowed in his coverage. He was even better in a few of the aforementioned areas in 2019 (59.6 passer rating allowed, 18 tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, four sacks).

As much as the Lions could use a good, experienced safety like Amos to pair with Walker, their talent level at inside linebacker is in more dire need of a serious upgrade. If Week 1 were next Sunday, the underwhelming Alex Anzalone and one of Derrick Barnes, Chris Board or Jarrad Davis would be on the field for the first snap. Rookie Malcolm Rodriguez is set to put himself in the mix at some point, perhaps sooner than later.

The Lions have of course seen plenty of Smith, as he has double-digit tackles in five of his eight career games against them (and another with nine tackles). Still just 25 years old, he would look pretty good in Honolulu Blue.

Honorable Mention: QB Justin Fields, WR Darnell Mooney, CB Jaylon Johnson
