The second round of the NFL Draft brings legends or celebrities announcing the picks, so who will announce the Detroit Lions second-rounder?

The Detroit Lions have two first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, then they’ll go on the clock again early in the second round and No. 34 overall. Assuming they keep the pick and don’t use it to move around the board.

While commissioner Roger Goodell announces first-round picks in each draft, the second round brings past players, celebrity fans etc. announcing each pick. Ahead of the draft those that will be announcing second-round picks are coming out, and on Monday night the Lions released who will be announcing their pick at No. 34 overall.

Barry Sanders and Keegan-Michael Key to announce Lions second-round pick

Barry Sanders is of course a Lions’ Hall of Fame legend, and one of the best running backs in NFL history. Key, an actor/comedian of course, is a Detroit native and a noted celebrity Lions’ fan.

Key ventured into football comedy on his sketch show “Key and Peele” back in the day. He once explained to Dan Patrick the origins of the sketches.

Here’s a clip of one of the “Key and Peele” football sketches.

Key will definitely play it professional and straight next to Sanders on the stage Friday night in Las Vegas. But if the player the Lions take at No. 34, you can be sure a wry smile will be on his face as he recalls his comedic past with partner Jordan Peele.

If the Lions procure another second-round pick, Sanders and Key will be on the stage again to announce it Friday night.
