Fifth Round

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. TE. UCLA. player. Greg Dulcich. 176. 50

Dulcich is another prospect the Lions are getting a look at during Senior Bowl week. At 6-foot-3 with a solid all-around skill set, Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network was complementary of the UCLA product’s work on the first day of practice in Mobile.

The Lions need more weapons on offense. Dulcich could be used in two-tight end sets with T.J. Hockenson, and perhaps deployed as a “big slot” receiver to really test defenses further. In the fifth round, talent trumps a possible greater need.

Sixth Round

player. 50. Scouting Report. LB. Penn State. Ellis Brooks. 179. Pick Analysis

Brooks played in 47 games at Penn State, with 20 starts over his last two seasons. In 2021, he became the 23rd different linebacker in program history to register 100 or more tackles in a season.

The Lions may lose one or both of Alex Anzalone and Jalen Reeves-Maybin in free agency, and they were already thin at linebacker even if people are signed to replace whoever might be gone. Brooks could step in and help right away.

player. 218. 50. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Baylor. Kalon Barnes

Barnes interception production was not great at Baylor (three in the last three seasons), but it’s not because he wasn’t near the ball in coverage (13 pass breakups over the last three years). He has literal track speed at 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds (unofficially at the East-West Shrine Bowl) and the reviews of him from East-West Shrine Bowl practice have been good.

In today’s NFL, there’s no such thing as too many capable cornerbacks. The Lions add one here in the sixth round.
