Second Round

Scouting Report. S. Lewis Cine. 34. player. Pick Analysis. Georgia. 50

Cine was a central cog in the country’s best defense last season, with a team-high 73 total tackles, nine pass breakups and one interception for the national champion Bulldogs. He might be a first-round pick, and indeed Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports has recently mocked him to the Lions at No. 32. But in this run the Lions take a chance he doesn’t get taken at No. 33, and hope to land him here. Rewarded, they are.

Independent of if Tracy Walker leaves as a free agent, the Lions have a need at safety. If he does sign elsewhere, a notable outside free agent signing could be paired with a rookie from the draft.

Ideally, Cine won’t be asked to turn on the jets and run with receivers downfield. But otherwise he’s a well-rounded player who can make an immediate impact in the run and pass game for Aaron Glenn’s defensive unit.
