4. John Metchie III, Alabama

Earlier this month, James Fragoza of Pro Football Network had the Lions taking Metchie No. 30 overall, the pick they got from the Rams in the Matthew Stafford trade.

"(Metchie III) didn’t record his first 100-plus-yard receiving game until Week 7, but he’s been consistent the last two years. Sure, he hasn’t blown up like DeVonta Smith, but that is more a testament to Smith’s abilities rather than a knock on Metchie. He possesses the speed to stretch defenses and the route running to create separation with ease."

Not everyone is as high on Metchie. Tankathon has Detroit taking him at the top of the third round–No. 65 overall–right now.

Metchie has 67 catches for 722 yards and six touchdowns in 10 games this season,  with a recent stretch where he had scored in three straight games (four times total). He has at least five receptions in every game thus far.

3. Chris Olave, Ohio State

Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports has the Lions taking Olave No. 27 overall.

"Ultimately, the Lions may end up moving around the draft board to target a QB (assuming they don’t land one in free agency) but since we’re not doing trades here, they take Olave 26 picks after getting Thibodeaux. As it stands, only Quintez Cephus and Amon-Ra St. Brown are under contract after this season."

The primary question with Olave is he’ll be available when the Lions go on the clock somewhere in the mid-to-late 20’s of the first round. In nine games so far this season he has 51 receptions for 708 yards and 11 touchdowns, with a seven-game scoring streak going. He could be a top-20 pick, but if he falls the Lions will probably have him in their que of players to take if they stay put where the pick from the Rams falls. A small move up to grab him wouldn’t be out of the question.
