Lions 2022 NFL Draft: 5 draft prospects to watch in Week 11
If the Lions take an edge rusher with the No.1 overall pick, Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux has been the unanimous selection in mock drafts. But CBS Sports’ Chris Trapasso, while fully citing that November is an ideal time for a mock draft shocker, went with Karlaftis to Detroit at No. 1 in his recent mock. Trapasso cited the Purdue pass rusher as being more NFL-ready than Thibodeaux, physically and in terms of overall polish at the finer points of the pass rush game.

Cine is the Bulldogs’ second-leading tackler through nine games this season (40 total tackles), and he’s tied for the team lead with six pass breakups. He has entered the first-round conversation for some analysts/mock drafters, though being tabbed in the top-10 of a fairly recent mock draft is a reach. A few weeks ago, Kiper Jr. had Cine ranked as his No. 5 safety–that’s not a first-round pick.
The Lions have a big need at safety, and if Tracy Walker departs in free agency it will be an even bigger need heading into April’s draft. Cine could step in right away and start, as Walker’s replacement or his running mate. In the second round, depending on how the first round board falls, Cine will probably be on the Lions’ radar.
