The Wolfpack from the Mountain West have an NFL prospect in quarterback Carson Strong, who is also surely on the Lions’ radar. But Doubs is a mid-round (Day 2) draft prospect, and the Lions’ dire need for help at wide receiver should drive some interest in him as well.

Jeff Risdon of Lions Wire had a comp for Doubs that might peak the interest of Lions fans.

"Third round: Romeo Doubs, WR, Nevada Doubs has the ability to make catches outside the frame of his body that is as good as anyone in this draft class. His speed isn’t spectacular but the route running and blocking sure are. Has some Marvin Jones to his game. I miss Marvin Jones in Detroit…"

Doubs as one of just three returning FBS wide receivers this year who had more than 1,000 yards in 2020. He has scored in four straight games heading into this weekend.

WR. Penn State. Jahan Dotson. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 806. 3.. player

A couple recent mock drafts have tabbed Dotson to the Lions, either with their second first-round pick or in the second round. An explosive all-around showing last Saturday against Maryland has driven some extra hype, as the Nittany Lions’ wideout has posted 22 receptions for 369 yards over his last two games–before you dismiss that production, the first of the two (11 catches for 127 yards) was against Ohio State.

I don’t love Dotson as a first-round prospect right now, but he is a name for Lions fans to know and he should be on the radar of the front office and scouting department.
