Scouting Report. player. Pick Analysis. WR. Arkansas. Treylon Burks. 3. 844

After a breakthrough season in 2020 (51 catches for 820 yards and seven touchdowns in nine games), Burks has 42 receptions for 717 yards and seven touchdowns through eight games this season. CBS Sports has him as a top-15 overall prospect in the 2022 class, and the No. 3 wide receiver. He has five touchdowns over the last three games, and four 100-yard games on the season thus far.

Wide receiver is an obvious need for the Lions. Taking one early in the second round seems like an easy order, but Kyle Crabbs of The Draft Network has Burks to the Lions late in the first round of his recent mock draft.

"As someone who was skeptical of Burks entering this season, consider this my formal apology for doubting the Razorbacks WR. Burks has been terrific and a dominant threat with the ball in his hands. Whether he’s attacking the ball at the catch point or creating after the catch, Burks has helped himself in my perception to a high degree this year—and that’s why he’s getting his name called this early in this mock. The Lions need good football players. This is the best one available here at No. 32 and it just so happens to coincide with a need."

Burks has size (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) with a strong overall skill set. Before the season, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah compared him to Tennessee Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown.
