1. Travis Fulgham

For a stretch last season, Fulgham looked like one that really got away for the Lions. As the Philadelphia Eagles were hit by injuries to their wide receivers, he got an opportunity and posted 29 catches for 435 yards and four touchdowns over a five-game stretch. But he faded after that, as then-head coach Doug Pederson apparently questioned his work habits.

Fulgham was on the Eagles’ roster bubble last summer before being waived, but he wound up back on the practice squad. Until Monday anyway, when NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the Eagles cut Fulgham from their practice squad. Chris Burke, the Lions’ beat reporter for The Athletic, noticed the move.

The Lions drafted Fulgham in the sixth round of the 2019 draft (No. 184 overall) out of Old Dominion. He got into three games that season, with zero receptions, before being waived in August of 2020.

Fulgham was free for any other team to pluck off the Eagles’ practice squad and put on their active roster for five weeks, and none did. He’s a little more freely available now, since he doesn’t have to be put onto the 53-man roster after being signed off a practice squad. But that’s a procedural distinction that shouldn’t have mattered much to the Lions, and it’s irrelevant now. A reunion could be in order.
