While the Lions should absolutely re-sign Kenny Golladay despite coming off an injury-riddled season, there will be a mass exodus of wide receivers exiting Detroit next offseason. Golladay, Danny Amendola, Marvin Jones Jr., Marvin Hall, and Jamal Agnew are all scheduled to be free agents in 2021.

That means Detroit will likely be forced to massively overall their wide receiver corps soon. If so, the Lions are lucky as there are numerous top wideouts scheduled to hit free agency in March. And we believe the Pride should actually double-dip if possible.

With the explosive season being had by Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie wideout Chase Claypool, the luster has dulled on his teammate, JuJu Smith-Schuster. Once considered one of the top young receiver talents in the league, the former second-round pick could be a great signing for Detroit.

The 24-year old is quietly have a terrific season. Smith-Schuster has recorded 58 receptions for 535 yards and five touchdowns in 10 games. And his catch percentage of 77.3% is the highest of his four-year career.

With the ability to play outside, but particularly skilled in the slot, Smith-Schuster could easily replace Amendola in Detroit as quarterback Matthew Stafford’s new and improved security blanket. JuJu should be a free-agent target for the Lions even if the team ultimately re-signs Golladay.
