T.J. Hockenson, TE

Last season, Hockenson got 367 yards on 32 receptions with two touchdowns. A big part of those stats came from his Week 1 performance against the Arizona Cardinals where he got 131 yards and a touchdown on six catches. Many thought this was just the beginning of what was yet to come but people were left disappointed as he was mediocre the rest of the season and got injured.

In Hockenson’s sophomore year, expect him to take a big leap forward as many tight ends do in their second year in the league. Hockenson is sure to get more than double the amount of touchdowns he did last season while putting up a good amount of yards to contribute to your fantasy team.

There are obvious players at his position that will do way better than he will like George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers), Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs) and Zach Ertz (Philadelphia Eagles). He can’t be considered in the second tier of tight ends in the NFL just yet but with a strong showing in 2020, he could thrust himself into that conversation for 2021 and beyond.

As there’s always the possibility that Hockenson doesn’t live up to expectations just yet, if you plan on him breaking out this season, draft another experienced and proven tight end just to be safe. To start off the season, the Lions tight end would be a great backup for your team and if he does well, you struck gold by picking him.
